Love at first sight

I met my fiance on Jewish mingle. She lives in juiz de fora & I live in Calif. I went to visit her first & it was love at first sight. She's coming to visit me in Calif. & we're going to get married. Yeah! Everyone lives happily ever after.

"I'm in love with a rabbi!"

My fiancee saw my profile on Jewish Mingle and contacted me because our children have similar interest. At first, it seemed that was our only reason to be friends, but very quickly we found that we had so many more things in common. We wrote, then talked, then visited, and now, I can say something I never thought I'd be saying when I was a kid, "I'm in love with a rabbi!"

Mingle made it happen.

It started out very simple.

It started out very simple. I was looking to relocate to Arizona and I started contacting some men in Arizona to ask them for their help with finding an apartment, etc. I also contacted women as well. Some of the men were very nice and kept a connection for a few short weeks. However, the best in the west won my heart. He is truly an officer and a gentleman. He invited me to stay with him until I found a job and could afford an apartment. He was also inquiring about potential places of employment. As we chatted online everyday, I decided that maybe it was worth getting to know him on more than a friendship level. One card, one smile, one chat after another led to the greatest relationship I have ever been in. I am originally from New York and so is he. We never connected while we were there, but somehow through the air we caught each others wave. I am very happy and so is he. We are now living together and planning our lives. The thing that worked for us was always speaking to one another with respect. Staying in touch online, then progessively working up to more and more was the nicest way to build a long distance relationship. We had very good communication between us. And, we still do.

Everything worked.

Dear Jen,

My user name on your site was "puzzledone1" and his was "keyman". Here's our true life story:

On the evening of September 6, 2002 (Erev Rosh Hashana) "keyman" wrote to me and we started corresponding. We had both been looking for someone to share our life with for a long time. He had been divorced for 24 years and had ended a 12-year relationship 5 years before. I had been a widow for 11 years. He was almost 70 years old and I was 65. We were both terribly lonely. Anyway we started corresponding and it didn't take long before we both realized that this was something special. "Keyman" lived in Orlando, Florida and I lived in Rochester, NY but somehow distance was not an insurmountable conisderation. Anyway, the end of Sept. "keyman" flew to Rochester for the weekend and as soon as he came into the airport terminal we both knew that this was it. Everything worked. Our interests were so compatible it was uncanny and we even thought alike. One of us would think about something and the other would say it. It was very unreal how much alike we were and still are. Anyway in October, my brother passed away in Rochester and "keyman", being the kind and considerate person that he is, immediately flew there to be with me which to me said it all about the type of person he is. Anyway, I then flew to Orlando on Nov. 26th for Thanksgiving and we got engaged as soon as I got there and we were married February 16, 2003 at a very small but beautiful wedding in a shule under a chupah and I feel that this is a fairy tale that I never want to end.
